We've received a slew of great cocktail recipes lately and it seems a pity not to share. Here, in no particular order, are a handful of recent favourites.
Cruzan Slowpoke Shandy
2 parts Cruzan Single Barrel Rum
1/2 part Lime juice
1/4 part Ginger syrup
1 part Wheat beer
Combine rum, lime and ginger syrup in a pint glass and slowly pour half of the beer into the glass. Add a few ice cubes and finish pouring the beer. Serves one. (Well, it serves one depending on what you consider a "part" to be.)
Cool Citrus Tea Punch
600ml Bacardi Superior
150ml Martini Bianco vermouth
375ml simple syrup (1:1)
375ml lemon juice
375ml Strong tea, earl gray tea (4 tea bags)
1 whole cucumber, cut into wheels
1 orange, 1 lime and 1 lemon
1 bunch of fresh mint
Add all ingredients in a punch bowl. Stir gently. Add ice. Serve.
Because I Said So

2 parts Laphroaig Select Scotch Whisky
1/2 part Cocchi Americano
3/4 part lemon juice
1/4 part simple syrup
Shake up and serve in a coupe rinsed with a bit of Laphroaig 10 year-old Scotch Whisky.

1.5 oz Odd Society Single Malt Whisky
0.5 oz Cynar (an Italian bitter, in the same family as amaro; cynar is made from artichokes but, thankfully, doesn't really taste like them!)
0.4 oz Odd Society Bittersweet Vermouth
0.25 oz Cherry Heering
Garnish: brandied cherry and orange peel
Place all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, and stir for approximately 20 seconds. Strain into rocks glass over ice and garnish with a brandied cherry and orange peel.
