Eau Claire Cherry Gin. If you haven't tried it yet, you need to.
Last year, Eau Claire Distillery's Cherry Gin sold out within weeks of its release. It proved to be so popular, the Southern Alberta distillery is adding it to its permanent lineup of spirits — good news for those of us who couldn't get enough of the pretty pink spirit.
And the new bottling hits stories this week. A London-dry style gin, it is infused with sour cherries and more than 12 unique botanicals. It retails for about $49.95 per bottle.
“The cherry on top of a fantastic 2017, we are excited to launch Cherry Gin as a permanent product and see what our loyal libation lovers think,” said David Farran, Eau Claire Distillery's president and founder in a news release.
The bottle's label features two magpies stealing cherries and an excerpt from the traditional children’s nursery rhyme, One for Sorrow. "According to an old superstition, the number of magpies one sees determines their luck," according to the news release. "So with two magpies on every Cherry Gin bottle you’re guaranteed a stroke of good fortune."
This year, the distillery will also release a special seasonal gift box for Valentine's Day featuring a bottle of Cherry Gin, four Cōchu Cherry Gin Chocolate Cordial Shooters, a four pack of Eau Claire Original Tonic, two glasses and a bar spoon for home cocktail creations.
