This Canuck red is a great deal
Canadian wineries get a bad rap sometimes from wine lovers who believe the wines are too expensive.
But in the past couple of years, I've been noticing a shift away from that.
Sure, there are many high-priced Okanagan wines out there.
But there are just as many producers who are looking to release good-quality wines that don't cost an arm and a leg.
That's where the Five Vineyards by Mission Hill line has been so effective, particularly in the Alberta market where I'm based. Not only are the wines very affordable, they're delicious.
This Pinot Noir is a great example. There's enough delicacy, fruit and balance in it to please a typical high falutin' Pinot Noir fan, but it won't break the bank. About $18.
